I am from Raleigh, North Carolina. I went to the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) for high school and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for my undergraduate education. I double majored in physics and mathematics, and I worked as an undergraduate researcher for Dr. Andrew Mann. While I was an undergraduate, my work helped confirm the discovery of the young planet TOI-1227 b. I also took part in UNC-CH's Society of Physics Students and Visibility in Physics clubs, serving as the treasurer for ViP and the room manager for SPS.
At Hopkins, I have been an active member of the Department of Physics and Astronomy's community. I served as the social coordinator for the Physics and Astronomy Graduate Students (PAGS) group from 2023 to 2024, and since 2024 I have served as the president of PAGS.
I have been an organizer for our graduate labor union, Teachers and Researchers United (TRU-UE), ever since I arrived at Hopkins. I believe that graduate students, like all other workers, should be able to work with dignity, safety, and financial security. I am thrilled that we have been able to exert our collective power to move towards these necessary goals, and I am hopeful that we will be able to continue this fight into the future. I have served as one of the elected co-chairs of the Media and Communications Committee since 2024 and as a Steward during the same timeframe.
Outside of school and work, I have a variety of hobbies to fill up my time. I enjoy cooking and baking, weightlifting, gardening, hiking, tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons, and video games like Minecraft. Below are some pictures I've taken of plants I've grown!
