Stephen P. Schmidt

Hello and welcome to my website! I'm Stephen Schmidt, a PhD Candidate, NSF Graduate Research Fellow, and graduate worker at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

What I Do

I study exoplanet systems, dynamics, evolution, and atmospheres. I combine large data sets and space telescope observations to understand where they come from and what's going on inside them. Please click any of the items on the right to learn about my work! If you'd instead prefer to look at a CV, please download it below.

Big Data in Exoplanets with Gaia, TESS, and more

Exoplanet Host stars and transiting brown dwarf using the ESA's Gaia mission and NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite mission.

Exoplanet Ages, Demographics, and System Evolution

What can kinematic ages tell us about exoplanet systems, and how they change over time? What can we do with traditional age estimation methods?

Exoplanet Atmosphere Observations with JWST

What is the structure of sub-Neptune exoplanets? What's going on in the atmsopheres of ultra-hot Jupiters?
